[He ended the feed, got Pretzel ready for a walk and locked the office up behind them to make his way over to Rhy’s dome. It doesn’t take long, a new kind of pretzel and excellent company are an excellent motivation after all.]

[Does Rhy take some time to dress up nicely, in a beautiful shirt and an even more beautifully embroidered vest? Absolutely. He wants to look good to the other man. So when the man arrives, he opens the door and smiles.]

[Rhy’s attempt doesn’t go unnoticed. Even if Llewellyn might have been unaware that the outfit were picked out to look nice to him, he always notices the finer details. This outfit was definitely no different; the colours, the way the vest accented the shirt, it suited him well. If he had thought to stop at the dormitory he might have changed into something a little nicer himself. Thinking a bit wistfully on the nicer floral vest that Inesa had gifted him at their little get together when they took over the shop for the day.

Instead, he was left looking the outfit over with some appreciation before Rhy’s words distracted him.]

Hello, uh— yes of course. I’m looking forward to it, a mysterious new kind of pretzel and good company. I think that sounds like a good afternoon.

[Pretzel, being a puppy, was less impressed with either of their outfits and more interested in the fact that the nice man who had carried him around that time would be joining them for a walk. He seemed to be doing well enough with his training by this point, pulling less on the lead, Though he did still offer a little excited bark in greeting, he wanted to be heard after all.]

[Rhy crouches down to stroke the puppy's head in a hello. And once he's finished that, he rises to look at Watts, smiling fondly.]

Might I kiss you hello?

He sure does like you.

[Llewellyn laughed softly at the sight, Pretzel becoming a wiggly little noodle of a dog from the attention. It was almost like a toll had been paid, once Rhy straightened and the dog settled.

The surprise on his face at the question is quite obvious, but in a pleasant sort of way as his smile turned a little bashful in tone.]

O-oh, Yes? You may if you like—

[He shuts himself up there with another little smile, halting the usual ramble. He just liked that Rhy asked first.]

[Well, Rhy leans forward and presses a soft, welcoming kiss to the other man's lips. Hello, it says.]

Well, shall we walk then?

[He smiled lightly, leaning into the kiss gently before straightening. It’s... very nice, he thinks. To be greeted in such a way? He can’t help but wistfully thing that it would be a nice habit. Flushing lightly, pleased, he nods in response to Rhy’s question.]

I believe we shall.

[Llewellyn offered his arm, switching Pretzel’s leash to his other hand so that they might walk together towards the market dome.]

Let us mm... see if we can track down these very unusual but delicious sounding pretzels you’ve discovered.

Alas, I have not discovered them. I was told of them in the process of greeting a new arrival. I was mentioning our foods here and how they are a delight to explore and suggesting he get a pretzel, and he asked if they had any of the stuffed variety.

[And Rhy had immediately contacted Watts. This was too important not to seek out. That and the excuse to walk with the other, twining the arms together, was value.]

Well, hopefully this world has also heard of these stuffed varieties of pretzels then. I can’t recall having seen them before... but that doesn’t mean they don’t have them. I wouldn’t have thought to look for such a thing.

[Llewellyn couldn’t help the small, soft smile that spread across his face at the explanation. It was very sweet that Rhy had thought of him and reached out immediately over something like this. To be thought of at all was nice, but that it was over something they had both enjoyed was nicer still.]

Oh, I uh— never did get the chance to congratulate you on your new position on the council. I trust it’s been going well?

Perhaps you saw them, but did not know it.

[The congratulations earns a happy smile from Rhy. He had not thought to truly win, but he had desired it.]

I must keep myself busy, you understand. I am a royal, and I have found that idleness only leads to me making trouble. Or finding it.

Mm.... That is a good point. I suppose what makes them different is inside rather than outside, less noticeable.

[He nodded at the explanation, he of all people understood the need to keep busy.]

Oh, absolutely. It’s why I sought to open my office, best to keep one’s mind and hands busy enough to stay out of trouble and keep yourself sane.

[Or as sane as he supposed anyone could be in this place sometimes.]

Forgive me for asking, but has there been much work for you? This seems a peaceful place.

No need for apologies, it’s a good question. There’s um... not as much of the kind of work that I’m used to here, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing?

[An understatement after the year he had arrived here from,]

It’s been just smaller things, here and there. I get to help the locals solve little crimes, the odd theft and such...?

I’m not... good much else, so it’s good to find little things I can do to contribute. And what time I’m not spent doing that, I’m trying to help collect information on this place to help put that puzzle together.

You should bring those you catch to the council.

[Oh, and Max would love that, he’s sure. The man had taken a long while to convince on the matter. A private detective was as much as he would allow, which given he ran the black market was unsurprising.

Still, it isn’t as though he could bring the person to anyone else once he figured out who the culprit was.]

Yes, whenever I figure out... who has done something, I will likely be in contact? There aren’t many thus far, so uh— at least I won’t be adding to your and the rest of the council’s workload too much.

[Oh, black markets were vital. Rhy agreed with that. But theft from others was something Rhy didn't like.]

I want the add to the workload if it's doing better for people.

[And given how the place was generally more helpful for those who lived here, and Max had more principles than those who ran such things in Llewellyn’s world, he had very little to worry about from the detective.

He grinned a little at Rhy’s response.]

And that’s one of the reasons you’ll be such an excellent addition to the council. I uh— still hope I don’t have to bring you anything too often. After all, as much as I need something to keep me occupied, a lack of things for me to do means the community is peaceful.

[Of course he is, they were discussing work before and Llewellyn has only been on... one or two dates before, and those were during the days he was trying to be something he wasn’t.

He’s learning though, brow furrowing for a moment as he turns the other’s words over in his head until they finally click. Oh... His smile is small, and slightly clumsy as he responded.]

Mm... That’s true. I shall table that topic for more pleasant conversation then.
