No. To bury them is to deny the magic which kindles all life within us the freedom to return to the origin. Cremation renders the vessel broken, that we might return to the Source of magic, and new life and power drawn from it. Magic is indeed a finite thing, and to horde it so jealously like that would be wrong.

[Llewellyn turned that over in his head carefully, nodding a moment later.]

So the the cycle must be kept flowing smoothly? Out of respect to magic. I think... I understand that.

Not out of respect for magic. But because it is the nature of things. Magic must pass naturally.

[Which of course further points out why Rhy had been so disgusted by the Inheritor business.]

So it’s to make sure magic flows as it should naturally, and cremation ensures that it returns to the source to maintain it.

[He nodded a little, readjusting his understanding a little more. It really was no wonder he’d been so against the idea of the inheritor.]

We truly are from different worlds. It makes me wonder what else differs greatly.

Oh— certainly that, our worlds have been shaped by very different things.

[Although when he thought about his history, some of it was actually in the future for Rhy. He moved on though, humming a little as he thought about lighter options.]

What of nature though, I wonder if the flowers or wildlife differ? I’ve uh— thought of that since realizing so much of what we consider myth or legend in my world is real in others.

I do not know. I've heard little of animals and plants in your world. You'll have to tell me sometime.

I would be delighted to, for now though... I believe we have these mysterious pretzels to find?

[The small dog lets out a small bark at that, silly little thing.

But they had come to the market, and the smells of food being cooked and ready for purchase were quite distracting.]

[Rhy leans down to scoop up the pup.]

[A small laugh escaped him at that, Pretzel was going to end up rather spoiled at this rate. Rhy was going to be stuck carrying the little dog around at this rate.]

Well that’s uh— one Pretzel found.

[He reached over to give his little dog a fond scratch behind the ear before moving on with Rhy towards the food.]

I wonder what they fill them with, the non-pup ones I mean.

[Well, Rhy is clearly as smitten with the puppy too.]

I am hoping with cheese. I enjoy cheese.

Cheese would be very good, and perhaps combined with some spices or something?

[He glanced around the market as they walked, keeping an eye out for the pretzel stand.]

Oh— or perhaps a dessert flavour ones...!

"How would you make it dessert flavored? Could one put ice cream WITHIN a pretzel?"

Oh... Llewellyn quite liked the sound of that, though he wasn’t entirely sure how it could be accomplished. “In my world, I’ve seen pastries filled with various kinds of creams, or layered with honey and nuts. I’ve never seen ice cream inside bread before... Uh— I wonder if that would be possible? It does melt fairly quickly.”

"Oh now I want a cream puff," Rhy groans. He was a royal. Being pampered with delicacies like that was common.

"It does melt so fast. Which is why you use magic!"

Llewellyn glanced at Rhy, a small laugh escaping at the rather dramatic groan, “Well if they don’t have dessert flavoured pretzels, we could always get one after? To mm... round out the meal.” Never put ideas in Llewellyn’s head that involve food, he will always support them.

He paused a moment later, of course magic would help. “Oh, i never would have thought of that. I would like to try something like that someday.”

"Fruit. Spiced apples would be good in pretzel."

He would indulge so much, if he could.

“That would be very good? If they don’t have them it would definitely be an idea for the future.” Rhy was succeeding in making him very hungry. “Blueberry jam would also be good too... Those would be in season by now where I’m from.”

[Blueberry jam. Not a common thing where Rhy is from. Therefore he longs for it.]

Or elderberry. That would be wonderful too. With cream to dip in.

[Llewellyn was used to taking strolls along the outskirts of roads, where blueberries grew wild and plenty. They were always a treat at that time of the year, even if he couldn’t cook with them himself.

His brows perk up at the idea of elderberry though, they weren’t quite as common, but they did grow. More often kept and tended in the gardens of those who had them. ]

That would definitely be a treat...! I wonder if anything like that could be found somewhere in the market.

[Hard to say, he supposed. Stranger things had been found though, or if anything cream and other fruits could be delicious. Things to look forward to after the matter of pretzels was sorted out. Llewellyn’s eyes scanned the selection curiously as they came upon the stand.]

Do you see anything that might be what we’re looking for?

If they cannot they should be, and I shall be very disappointed if they do not possess it.

[But he shall understand. This place is very weird. But he does look around and points. A stand not very far from where they get their pretzels normally. Just, you know, further along the market than Rhy normally goes.]

Let us try there.

I will be myself, but I guess we’re limited to what ever things grow in the agricultural dome. Persephone did bring a lot of variety to this place though while she was here, so it’s always possible.

[Llewellyn turned his attention to the stand in question, brow furrowing a bit as he tried to work out what it sold from the current distance. He couldn’t, of course, the man honestly needed glasses sooner than he would eventually discover in life.]

Lets! If not there, we’ll um— have a nice walk through the market investigating.

[No walk was a waste after all, especially with good company like Rhy’s.]

[He wraps his arm around Watts once more so they can continue their lovely stroll.]

[He smiled, a small and definitely happy expression as the continued to move along. It was very nice to have someone close, to have contact... If he leaned into it a little, he hoped Rhy wouldn’t mind.]

I’m glad you agree, it’s something of a past-time of mine.

[One did have to get used to the fact that he constantly wandered and went looking for things. Llewellyn was the sort who needed to be properly engaged to be kept in one place for long.]
