Well this turned into a whole thing.
-Llewellyn is a selkie, older by humanity’s standards and younger most fae’s. He is probably in his late 20s to early 30s compared to humans.
-Was too young to remember much about his parents when they died
-Llewellyn does remember his mother singing to him and has inherited her skill with enchanted songs.
-He thus far only knows how to sing fish into an ease to catch them more easily, or direct them to fishing nets/traps to help humans out.
-His sister abandoned him when he was still a selkie-pup. He was lucky enough to be taken in by a migrating pod that happened upon him.
-He became incredibly attached to twin selkies Hubert and Daniel, and came to see them as his true family.
-He was captured and had his pelt stolen in the late 1800s while trying to protect his brothers from being captured themselves.
-Selkies will begin to gradually age more like a human if they’re kept from their seal form for too long, it’s how those committed to human life on land grow old with their loved one. So Llewellyn is aged slightly more than others his age due to being trapped on land without access to his pelt for several years.
-Has scarring on his hands and his finger webbing has grown back a bit unevenly from things that happened during his time in captivity (His flippers retain these scars). Also developed a bad back while in human form for so long.
-Enjoys sunbathing and laying on sand/rocks that have been heated by the sun as it soothes that ache.
-Seal form is a long, elegant looking creature with a dark brown spotted coat.
-Llewellyn can shift to something of a half/half form. His human half has a soft, thin layer of seal fur in the same pattern as his seal form.
-To spill Selkie blood means that a storm will come. The severity depends on how much harm has been done.
-Enjoys mingling with humans and has perfected the art of glamour enchantments for doing so.
-Is more of a scholar as Selkie-kind go. Retains a lot of the curiosity that seals display, and puts it to use learning as much about the world and humanity as he can with the long life he’s been gifted with.
-Llewellyn is very anxious and fidgety, and tends to keep seashells and sand-dollars in his pocket to fiddle with and distract himself. Often flips the sand-dollar between his fingers, and balances shells on the tips of his fingers when he’s bored.
-Selkie can be killed, especially if caught without their pelts. They cannot, however, be killed by way of drowning.
-Selkie can’t return to the sea if their pelt is stolen from them. They are often seen sitting on shorelines, crying or staring longingly at the waves they can no longer return to.
-As courtship styles go, he is less rough and tumble about it. Not the sort to get into physical fights to impress a potential mate, or build a harem like other males. Thus, he hasn’t really done much courting of other selkie.
-Instead exhibits other selkie/seal behaviours and gets very protective of the being of his affection; always looking out for a dangerous situation, their health, and untrustworthy individuals.
-Will attempt to take care of the person, the sailor he courted often found his nets constantly overpacked with fish and traps full of lobster/crabs. (No one ever went hungry in the city)
-Becomes slightly emboldened if encouraged and has been known to be slightly more affectionate with gentle touches, quick to embrace, leaning into the other persons space. (He’s generally very touch starved, so it’s always a novel experience for him to be encouraged)
-Selkie exist on the fringe of the seelie court’s influence. They do not engage very often with the court because of this, and are often viewed poorly because of this and their over-fondness for humanity.
-Llewellyn himself has only had one friend on the court before meeting Rhy. This is also the fae that was instrumental in tracking him down when he was taken away by the sideshow.
-He has long since stopped attempting to attend fae parties as he has a very bad habit of sticking his foot in his mouth.
-Because Llewellyn doesn’t interact with more than a handful of fae, he doesn’t actually know very much about phoenix fae. Thus, he was unaware that they had the ability to summon their cloak to them.
-Was apprehensive about accepting the gift of Rhy’s feather, knowing that it could damage the phoenix’s reputation among other fae.
-Llewellyn intends to try to make up for the dramatics he put Rhy through the night the met by both finding a replacement lamp for the one he broke, and carrying the message of the new king’s offer of aid, acceptance and shelter if necessary to the selkie and other skinchangers.
-When Llewellyn isn’t mingling among humanity, pursuing knowledge, eating, or visiting Rhy he is often found babysitting and watching over the selkie-pups of his pod to give their parents a break.
-Llewellyn is very fascinated with Rhy and often finds his bright, flashy style to incredibly distracting. He hasn’t quite figured out how to put that into words yet without sounding rather rude.
-He admires the way the man can navigate a conversation among the fae courts so eloquently and manage issues there with more grace than he ever could.
-Prefers earthy tones similar to his coat, but enjoys something about plaid patterns. If he’s feeling inclined to look a little fancier, he ventures into wearing greens.
-The Selkie thinks Rhy’s brother frowns far too much, and needs to lighten up.
